Verification failures are rare but they happen. Here's the playbook for handling them without panic.
Step 1: Verify yourself first
Before showing the document to anyone official, run the verification yourself. Go to the airline's "Manage my booking" page on your phone. Enter the surname and the booking reference exactly as they appear on the PDF.
If the reservation loads, you're fine — the issue is that the agent or officer didn't search correctly. If it doesn't load, the issue is on our side and we need to fix it.
Step 2: If your verification works, the agent's didn't
Common agent mistakes:
- Typing the surname differently from how it's stored (try with and without middle initial).
- Using the wrong airline's website (ours says exactly which carrier's PNR was issued).
- Searching too soon after we issued the reservation — most airlines need 30-60 minutes to make new bookings searchable.
Politely point them to the right airline's site, give them the surname and PNR, and ask them to retry.
Step 3: If your verification also fails
That's a real defect on our side. Email [email protected] with your booking reference and a screenshot of the error message. We re-issue the reservation within 60 minutes during business hours, faster outside of peak times.
If you're at a border or check-in counter and time is tight, call us — we have a phone line specifically for in-progress travel emergencies.
Step 4: If the officer escalates anyway
Sometimes an officer will refuse to verify the reservation because of internal policy or a system outage. In that case:
- Stay calm and offer the verification yourself on your phone screen.
- Ask whether you can buy a fully refundable ticket on the spot to clear the check (most airlines offer this at the counter).
- Take the loss as a learning event — sometimes a particular border is simply having a bad day.
The vast majority of issues are recoverable in under five minutes.
