My Dummy Ticket

Dummy Ticket Quality: What Separates a Good Reservation From a Bad One

The cheap end of the dummy-ticket market is full of providers who'll send you a polished-looking PDF for $5. The PDF is worthless because there's no real booking behind it. Here's how to spot the difference.

The three quality signals

  1. The PNR loads on the airline's site. A real reservation can be retrieved on the carrier's "Manage my booking" page using just the surname and the six-character booking reference. Type those two values into the airline's website. If the booking loads with the correct route and dates, it's real.
  2. The reservation is in the airline's named system. "Booked through Sabre" or "via Amadeus" doesn't matter to a consular officer. What matters is whether the airline itself can see the booking when their staff look it up. Real bookings are visible to airline staff, not just to the third party that created them.
  3. The PDF carries the airline's actual branding and itinerary format. Each carrier has its own confirmation email template. A reservation made through the airline's reservation system produces a PDF that matches the carrier's standard layout. Off-template PDFs are a red flag.

Things that don't matter

How My Dummy Ticket compares

Every reservation we issue is booked directly inside the airline's reservation system, generates a real PNR, and carries the airline's standard PDF format. The booking reference is verifiable on the airline's public site within minutes of delivery. We don't generate static PDFs and we don't sell "demo" tickets without real bookings.

That's why we charge $14 instead of $4. The underlying booking has a real cost we pay to the GDS for each PNR created.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check if a reservation is real before submitting it?

Go to the airline's website, find the "Manage my booking" page, type your surname and the booking reference from the PDF. If the reservation loads, it's real. If you get an error, the document is worthless.

Why are some providers cheaper?

Because they don't book real reservations. They generate PDFs that look correct but have no booking behind them. The price reflects the quality.
